The issues endangering mental health of general population are often underestimated. Being as important as physical health, mental health is fundamental to one's general well being. Poor mental health effects a persons psychological and social functioning. Mental health disorders are a range of disorders from depression to bipolar disorder.

Living in such a constricting world with having to deal with stress everyday can make anyone anxious or depressed. However, talking to friends, families and partners can help relieve that. But for concerns that are much more serious should talk to a professional.
Mental health problems are like any other health problems. Some can be prevented; some can be treated with self care and positive thinking, and some need professional attention.

The importance of Mental Health

Many mental health problems start with physical problems or emotional stress. Seeking treatment for mental health problems is very important. Treatment is a combination of self care and professional treatment. Professional treatment is centered on the individual while taking into account history, family and marital evaluation and various other factors.

Nearly two-third of all people with diagnosable mental disorders, do not get any treatment. There is more stigma attached to mental illness. People need to come out of shell and seek treatment and understand that mental illness is not a manifestation of moral failing.
