Dementia refers to the symptoms caused by disorders that affect the brain. It is the progressive impairment of memory in the absence of any other explanatory central nervous system disorder. Dementia affects a person’s ability to think and perform their day to day functioning and is an increasing concern for both individual and their family. Alzheimer disease is the most common cause of dementia. Millions of people are suffering of Alzheimer making it the 6th leading cause of death. Age:

The chances of dementia increases with age after the age of 65 years. In fact it doubles every 5 years after the age of 65 years.

Family history

First degree relatives of  people suffering with Alzheimer’s disease are more likely to develop dementia.
